It’s heartwarming to know that the “bubbles” of ingenuity are being popped, or at least have started to leak one by one into the rest of the world. I myself attended a highly ranked engineering university in Missouri, and found it disconcerting that their job placement rate was ~98%. 98%? Those 2% aren’t starting companies, those are just the few who fall through the cracks. Where are the innovative companies? Why are so many of these brilliant kids just finding themselves behind a desk doing “defect engineering”?

Thank you Robert, for being a voice of reason and inspiration for all the “small towns” out there filled with amazing talent.
